Production Planning in Readymade Garment Industry

Production planning is a critical aspect in the garment industry; the accuracy in planning equals to on-time deliveries the best of labor and guarantees that suitable provisions are ideally offered at the time of orders. Production planning encompasses nearly everything ranging from scheduling each work to be done in execution and product delivery. Finite capacity planning: The garment industry can be defined as a method or planning in production that ensures that it assumes the available capacity is defined or declared constant. That means that it recognizes the actual factory work as the center capacity limits. There are different algorithms that are used in finite capacity planning, however. Considering the limited times and quick, timely deliveries, planning is of great importance, and planners are the key in the entire process. This article seeks to explain how the new regular day's orders have become smaller delivery time shorter and why agile methodologies ought to be approached in a smart way using the finite capacity planning in the garment industry.

With the rapid turnover time, the order of the day it is practically and equally that every supply chain to be tightened to the maximum possible; this may sound interesting surprisingly that the supply chain is vertically integrated this ensures that all factors involved in the production and the supply chain are held constant (Elmehanny et al., 2018).

The readymade garments exporters catering to one of the most significant markets of all time in the fashion market should be more responsive to their planning in the supply chain, ensuring that they hold all factors constant. Different several measures have been considered to provide that the time taken in the production process is as minimum as possible; with the involved processes relatively inefficient and making the orders somewhat to go down, this factor has highly incapacitated the entire process. This inefficiency can thereby be solved by ensuring the availability of raw materials and support power or the manufacturing capacity; the items considered should be wholly covered and checked, covering all required materials in the production.

Improving the coordination between the merchandising and garment development or manufacturing team through this seamless flow of buyer communication may improve the order numbers and reduce production time. If this problem is experienced, it should be solved by ensuring that there is a speedy fit approval process from the customer requirements, if at all the problems that are encountered at the sampling stage they should be recorded with their suggested appropriate solutions or even recommendations this helps this industry when curbing the same problem at the same time or in future.

The production Engineering departments in this industry should ensure that it works within the production line's required requirements. This ensures that the critical operations finish precisely at the production floor; the order delivery is of great essence as a result of that it is essential is the industry is tied up to currier service agencies for quick, reliable, and efficient deliveries this is at the juncture where the industry under concern is covering an outstanding large region, with such posed questions it is of great importance that this industry quickly and with a lot of ease become smarter. This will help the industry inadaptability of the dynamic market and produce standard garments and subsequent service delivery to its consumers.

The Garment industry production line is a set of operations established sequentially in the industry assembling all the required components to make a finished garment suitable and ready for the market. All the raw materials like the Textile source plant like cotton and Flax undergo this sequence of the process’s inclusive treatment to help the reader be useful and essential for the other functions in the production line (Hasan, 2017).

The primary purpose of the line balance planning is to assign tasks to the workstations within the industry or the production site so that the machines at the various workstations can perform their assigned tasks with a balanced loading; the garment industry is set to produce meaningful quantities within concise time lead understanding it is collated with a very high level of productivity, Sewing line should be effectively and well balanced and systematically organized sequentially to suit the shortest time possible and reduce the incurred expenses though the mischievous unplanned production lines.

Line balancing thereby works as a useful tool to improve the garment industry's productivity, reducing the challenges experienced and excess costs incurred. This critical Exercise has outstanding benefits to the garment industry which are; Help in keeping the inventory cost low during the process, Enabling the operators in the industry to operate at a minimum constant speed, Enable or activate proper production planning, balancing the lines of production also helps, Enable the supervisors to attend to other chores within the production line. The ultimate goals for balancing are to ensure that; Production schedules are effectively and timely met, avoid waiting time, minimize the overtime, and even protect the operator earnings. Whether static balance or the dynamic balance the production planning plays an essential role in ensuring that the delivery dates are met in time with cost considered this is because there are no concurrent contradicting activities running simultaneously. Everything is sequential, with everyone's functions fully outlined and illustrated.

The sequential planning ensures all workload is done at the specific time allocated for each assignment or task in the production process in this critical industry, with far much margin it saves a lot of money from the work that is undone or of low quality and needs improvements.

With limited capacity and time is of great essence for the planners to consider when they are doing the actual planning for the production line in this industry. This ought to be considered in all production stages, whether at the planning stage, Action stage, or Control stage. The planning stage comprises the best course of action within the numerous alternatives; this stage has two sub-stages, majorly the preplanning and the active planning stages; the action stage is mostly considered the execution stage comprises of dispatching and progressing function. This stage is exceedingly critical since it is where the production is done per the product requirements. The control stage is equally important, for it is inventory control, material control, quality control, labor control, and cost control. This phase is more of controlling the functions in production to manufacture the products as planned (Youssef, 2018).

The scheduling of these three co-related stages relies on the production principles, which are entirely for the determination of the flow of the entire production line. For this to be effective the planners should be fully informed considering all the factors / qualities of a good production plan by ensuring that; there is elasticity to accommodate fluctuations and challenging situations like raw material scarcity, power failures, machines breakdown, absenteeism of workers, or even other natural calamities, standardization of materials, labor, equipment, quality, quantity, workmanship among others, ensuring that there is information feedback systems to ensure reliable and up to date information is availed, better organizational and managerial structure with proper guidelines and duty delegation of responsibilities within the process, precise assessments procurement times and manufacturing times, have correct policies for management of the inventory cost, inventory turnover and product mix, how to incorporate trained personnel for management the distinct apparatus’s and complex manufacturing processes, ensure that there is enough plant capacity in order to achieve the increasing demand as well as flexibility in response to the introduction of the new product ways, production rate and production mix. If all these factors and conditions are considered at the plan level, there will be a great way to curb the limited time and incorporate the limited capacity smoothly (Hridoy & Mohsin, 2020). This also caters to uncertainties that occur at the early stages of production, Middle, or even advanced production settings.

In conclusion, irregardless of the type of business being undertaken, planning plays a significant role in ensuring that processes within the production lines are being launched with a lot of ease, meeting both the consumers and market need in this dynamic economy.
